  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups biscuit mix Can substitute with gluten-free blend.
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped Adds a fresh, vibrant note.
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste for more or less spice.
  • 1/4 cup milk Assists in achieving the right consistency.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and biscuit mix.
  • Add chopped green onions, Cajun seasoning, and milk. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  • Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  • Remove the sausage balls from the oven and cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Optionally, experiment with ingredients by adding diced jalapeños or herbs. Store leftovers in airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze them for longer storage.
