  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking the chicken

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce Customize according to taste

Instructions
 

Cooking the Chicken

  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Once the oil is shimmering, add the chicken to the hot pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally until golden brown and cooked through.

Making the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix together half a cup of honey and half a cup of barbecue sauce.
  • Pour the mixture over the cooked chicken in the pan. Lower the heat slightly and stir to coat the chicken in the sauce.
  • Allow to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken over a generous helping of warm cooked rice.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Customize your barbecue sauce and consider marinating the chicken for deeper flavors. You can also add sautéed vegetables for added nutrition.
